NFL Week 11, 2024: Buckle Up. Big Games on the Way
Bills-Chiefs and Ravens-Steelers will be fun and have an impact on playoff seating.
NFL Quick Hitters:
Blocked field goals - How many ways do the Chiefs have to win? They keep surprising us. They are a smart team. They know how to win. But they can’t keep it up. They have to start scoring some points. Broncos played a perfect game and still lost. The Bills are better. Chiefs need to score at least 24 points to win this game. It’s a test. If the Chiefs win this one they can coast.
Joe Burrow - is one of my favorite players to watch. he plays the game with physical grace and intelligence. He stays cool under pressure. Plus he throws to the best WR in the game in Chase. He’s being wasted. And so is Chase. Neither has much of a future with the Bengals. The Bengals have a history of being mismanaged. It’s not a top notch organization. Sorry Joe. Sorry Chase. I’ll keep watching you though.
Cowboys collapse - the problem is they don’t have talent. Plus they are stuck with a crazy contract for an average QB with a history of injury. Each time he comes back he is a little slower and stiffer. Can’t get rid of him. Can’t see a realistic path forward. It’ll be years of poor play. Rumors are Deion and his son will go to the Cowboys and turn them around. Not going to happen. Not even possible with the current contract situation.
Two games of the week - Ravens and Steelers are exciting. Chiefs and Bills has become a big rivalry. Two great games. Chiefs and Bills is almost guaranteed to be close and come down to the end. Chiefs grind it out. Expect these two teams to face each other in the playoffs. Ravens are on a roll. They have the most complete and maybe the most unstoppable offense. Steelers are all about defense. Steelers are big game guys but they haven’t played the Ravens and Lamar. Mahomes may be the best QB but Lamar is the most unique player in the league. Ravens stay on a roll.
NFL Games: Week 10
Last week’s totals: 9 - 5: Should’ve been better. It was an easy week. Just picked a couple because I wanted them to win.
Season’s totals: 105 - 47
Survivor pick/Lock of the week: (current streak 7) Texans - It would have been easy to pick the Lions this week. That’ll be the biggest blowout. But I’m pissed at the Cowboys. Go Texans.
(Oh, and if you use these picks - or the fantasy lineup at the bottom - to gamble do so at your own risks. I’m a ‘gut feel’ type of picker. I don’t do a computer analysis.)
Week 11: Thursday Night Game
Commanders vs. Eagles - Eagles are on a roll but haven’t really played a good team. This one is a test. Commanders are a complete and prepared team. Eagles are at home and more talented. These teams with these QB’s will be butting heads for years. I’m pulling for the Commanders but, Eagles win.
Sunday Games
Packers vs. Bears - Love is having a slump and the Bears are falling apart. You can’t win football games without an offensive line. Or a plan to offset the weakness. Packers win.
Jaguars vs. Lions - Blowout. Ugly one. Lions win.
Raiders vs. Dolphins - Must win game for the Dolphins. Teams have taken away there quick passing game. Dolphins need to find other ways to score big. They do it this week. Dolphins win.
Rams vs. Patriots - Rams are young but with talent. Patriots are young and re-building. Rams have to win but it’ll be close. Rams win.
Browns vs. Saints - Carr doesn’t do well under heavy pressure. Browns can pressure. Saints do have a chance with Winston at QB for the Browns. He can throw 3 interceptions at any time. Browns win.
Ravens vs. Steelers - Cool game. Steelers will be ready. Steelers will pound the ball and throw downfield. They have an elite defense but can they stop Lamar. This is strength on strength. Gotta go with the Ravens. I think they are playing the best football in the league right now. But they need to win a big game. This one is it. Ravens win.
Vikings vs. Titans - Vikings won ugly last week. Titans have a good defense but its not enough. Vikings win.
Colts vs. Jets - Jets are a dysfunctional team. They can play great for stretches. But they’re the opposite of the Chiefs. The Chiefs find a way to win. The Jets find a way to lose. Colts are going back to Richardson at QB. Expect a run heavy offense. Colts win.
Falcons vs. Broncos - Broncos played a great game and lost. They need to forget it and move on. IF they do they win. Falcons can’t move the ball against a heavy rush. Broncos win.
Seahawks vs. 49ers - 49ers didn’t look good but they won. THey need to get their mojo back. McC feels better and has a better feel this week. 49ers win.
Chiefs vs. Bills - here we go. Bills win the regular season games in this series. They are at home. But I can’t pick against the Chiefs yet. This week they score 24+ points. Chiefs win.
Bengals vs. Chargers - Bengals are wasting talent. Get an offensive line. Get a defensive line. Then they’re a SB contender. Chargers win.
Monday Night Game
Texans vs. Cowboys - Texans get Nico Collins back. They run. They pass. They paly as a team. They don’t point fingers. Cowboys continue to collapse. Texans win.
My FanDuel lineup: (Another dud, - $15: score 99.78) Week 11: Goff, Taylor, Chubb, Hopkins, Williams, Waddle, Pitts, Dobbins, Lions.
Season score: -$10
